PALO DURO CANYON STATE PARK The nations, 2nd largest canyon is just 20 miles from the inn. The Amarillo area is home to TWO great seasonal outdoor shows. "Texas Legacies", a musical drama and "Lone Star Rising" a cultural musical . An other claim to fame is the city's segment of historical Route 66. Amarillo also has the only American Quarter Horse Heritage Center & Museum in the USA .In near by Canyon, home to West Texas A and M University, is Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum, Texas' largest, covering a little of everything from before the the Stone Age to the present .

Amarillo's Parkview House is close to some great local restaurants, serving Mexican to Japanese foods.The various Western Night Clubs have lots of wide open spaces on the dance floor to do real Western dancing, like the Two-Step, Cotten-eyed Joe and Line dancing.

From I-40 take Washington St. exit turn N. on Washington to W. 14th, turn right or East. We're 1 block east on the corner of W. 14th and S. Jefferson St.

Directions from the Airport:
From Amarillo's Rick Husband International Airport, go to I-40 then travel West on the interstate to Washington St. exit, ( be sure to stay in center lane until past the Amarillo downtown Exits ). Take the Washington St. Exit traveling North 6 Blocks to W. 14th St., then turn Right or traveling East for 1 block.
Parkview House is right on the corner of West 14th and S. Jefferson St.
