Active Adventure
Whitewater raft seven of California's Sierra slope rivers. Join your crew and experienced captain on the river in our 6 person paddle boat, receive expert instruction, and paddle down river through calm floats and exciting Class II to V whitewater, depending on the level of river you choose. Our Class III, beginning whitewater rivers are perfect for first-time rafters as young as 8 years old. Experienced paddlers step up to more exciting Class IV and V rivers.
Typical Day
We offer half-day, one-day, and two-day trips on most of our rivers. On a one-day trip, we typically meet near the river between 8:30-9:30, receive detailed orientation and safety information, board our boats and begin rafting! Lunch is served at a cool spot along the riverbank. We finish the day's run and shuttle back to our meeting site. Two-day trips include 1 or 2 nights' camping in our wilderness campsite and 4-5 delicious meals prepared by your guides.

Age range, type of group
On the South Fork American river, the minimum age is7. Other rivers require youths to be 12-14 years. Whitewater rafting is perfect for couples, families, groups of friends, and company team-building. You can choose your river to reflect your level of activity, physical fitness, and prior experience. We like to say the South Fork is perfect for rafters from 7 to 80!
Sleeping and meals
Two day trips around our South Fork camp include two nights' camping and 5 delicious meals prepared by your guides. Our main camp site has many camping areas, hot showers and flush toilets, activities to play at while off-river (volleyball, ping-pong, and horseshoes), nature trails, and restful riverside pools. A central campfire rounds out the evening under the stars. Deluxe Cabin-style Tents with cots and deck chairs are available; our Beverage Garden offers special wine-tasting during every 2-Day South Fork American River trip; several evenings local musicians entertain during hors d'hoeuvres.
