Surrounding Area
HI-Banff Alpine Centre, one of only 4 superior-rated hostels in Canada, is synonymous with the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Don't miss Banff's hot springs, the Whyte Museum of the Rockies, or a myriad of local shops and art stores. During the winter the hostel offers ski packages - including transportation - to the area's three major ski resorts. In the summer, try outdoor activities including white water rafting, guided nature walks, mountain biking, and more. The hostel's restaurant, Cougar Pete's Kitchen and Lookout, serves up great food at reasonable rates year round. The hostel is also home to Banff's only smoke-free pub - The StormCellar. Transportation from Banff to other Alberta hostels is available between June and September.
