An Oceanside Bed and Breakfast on the Marginal Way halfway between the center of town and Perkins Cove.

Built in 1899 as the summer home of the Stearns Family (of the Stearns and Foster Mattress Company), Rockmere Lodge sits on a slight knoll with a commanding view of the Atlantic, midway along the Marginal Way, an ocean-side footpath from Ogunquit Village to Perkins Cove.

The spacious grounds boast flower gardens with fountains and statuary that reflect the way your hosts imagine Rockmere Lodge would have looked at the turn of the century. You are invited to stroll the grounds, bask in the sun, enjoy the cool sea breeze or just sit in the shade on a stark white Adirondack chair.

The sweeping veranda that wraps around the entire front of the house is graciously appointed with comfortable white wicker, making it an inviting place to sit and enjoy the ocean view, nap, read or meet new friends.

The interior of Rockmere Lodge has been completely redecorated with many antiques and collectibles. The spacious living room is open for your comfort and enjoyment. You are invited to relax here and, during the fall and winter seasons, bask in the heat of a crackling fire in front of our beautiful Italian tile fireplace.

SOUTH OF MAINE - take I-95 North to the York - Ogunquit Exit (Exit 4). Go North on Route 1 about 7 miles. Take first right after Ogunquit Playhouse on Bourne Lane. Go to end and take a left on Shore Road. Take first right on to Israel Head Road. Go to the Ocean where road turns to right. Rockmere Lodge is on your left just after the bend.

NORTH OF MAINE - take I-95 South to the Wells Exit (Exit 2). Go left at exit on Route 9 to Route 1. Go South on Route 1 to Ogunquit Center. Take a left onto Shore Road. Take a left onto Israel Head Road. Go to the Ocean where road turns to right. Rockmere Lodge is on your left just after the bend.
