Our location offers easy access to an abundance of restaurants, shopping and recreation including Sullivan Arena, Convention Center, Performing Arts Center, Anchorage Museum of History and Art, Federal Building, hospitals and university. City center is a short 6-14 blocks away, the airport is 10 minutes by car and most business centers are less than a 10 minute drive. Anchorage has an abundance of bike/walking trails throughout the city. Potters Marsh located about 10 minutes away is a favorite for bird watchers. Since we are loctated on wooded acreage, we have on occasion spottted interesting birds. Championship sled dog races and the Iditarod begin in Anchorage each Feb. and March. The Great Alaskan Shootout invitational basketball tournament takes place each Thanksgiving weekend at Sullivan Arena, only 3 blocks away.

Mahogany Manor is an upscale, comfortable lodging for executives and tourists visiting Anchorage. Located on densely wooded, bluff acreage at the edge of downtown, guests will enjoy the ambiance of a quiet secluded lodge offering exceptional service. Guests will enjoy luxurious amenities including: Indoor gardens and waterfalls (one floor to ceiling), 2 immense fireplaces, ample common areas including a TV room, meeting room with big screen TV and 19' whirlpool swim spa nestled in the woods. The common areas feature an extensive collection of museum quality Alaskan artwork and antiques. Ensuite amenities include phone, clock radio, robes, slippers, hair dryer, make-up mirror, amenity basket and chocolates. Rooms/Suites

Each of our four guest rooms offers a private bath, bathrobes, slippers, large towels, hair dryer, cable TV, clock radio, high-speed internet access, queen or king bed, amenity basket and a tray of chocolates. GOVERNOR'S SUITE-2 bedrooms with large common area, bath, deck, 60's decor, great for families and couples traveling together. Can sleep up to 6 - 2 in each private bedroom and 2 in common area on roll-aways. NORTHERN LIGHTS ROOM - light and bright, view of downtown, no stairs, king bed. CABIN ROOM - 2 wall of windows overlooking woodlands, private and quiet, queen bed, redwood interior. ROYAL SUITE - most luxurious and comfortable, king bed, 2 walls of windows overlooking woodlands, dressing area, double vanity, large shower and separate tub, fireplace.

Amenities

The common areas have large libraries of movies and Alaskan videos and books. There are also cards, puzzles, games, a big screen TV as well as high speed internet access. We have a laptop to loan for checking email or rental for longer use. There is a small conference room on the property with big-screen TV and VCR.

Services Offered

There is a separate fully stocked guest kitchen with breakfast available anytime. Refrigerator stocked with cold drinks, juices, yogurt and milk. Additional breakfast items include choice of hot or cold cereals, pastries and breads, fresh fruit and hot drinks (coffee, chocolate, cider). Each evening a snack or dessert is available to guests.

Restrictions

Reservations are guaranteed with one night's deposit. The deposit will be refunded only if reservation is cancelled more than 14 days prior to arrival. Remaining balance is due 3 days before arrival and becomes non-refundable after payment. Check, cash, Travelers Cheques, MC/Visa, AX and Discover accepted. During special events, nonrefundable full payment or additional deposit may be required to guarantee reservations. We will advise you by email if this is the case. $25 processing fee applies to all cancellations. No refund for no-shows. Surcharge of $10 for one night stay. If you are arriving after 9 P.M., please call us from the airport from the baggage claim area so we can anticipate your arrival and assist you with any questions about transportation. Smoking outside in designated areas only. No Pets. Children welcome, however we request they be well-behaved and supervised in common areas.

Rates & Availability

Summer rates begin at $189 for a lovely room with queen or king bed or $219 for a large suite with king bed. We also offer a 3-room family suite with 2 private bedrooms, large common area, private bath and large deck at a rate of $289 per night for up to 4 guests. (Other rates are for 2 guests with an extra person charge of $25 plus 8% tax on all rates) Some summer dates for 2000 are booked full. Please call for availibility.

Directions

From airport, follow International Airport Road and exit North onto Minnesota Bypass. Follow approximately 4 miles, passing a lagoon. At the top of the hill, take first right which is 15th Ave. Follow through "C" St. intersection and in 3 blocks watch for tall brown fence on the right. Turn into the opening in the fence and park. WELCOME TO MAHOGANY MANOR. Free offstreet parking.
