Matana Beach Resort is located on Kadavu Island, the fourth largest island in the Fiji group. Accommodations

The resort offers beachfront accommodation in Traditional Fijian Bures, all equipped with modern facilities. All accommodation is located within 30 feet of the perfect beach.All bures feature queensized beds and modern bathrooms (with solar hot water). .There is a beachside dining area and a raised dining area and deck.The diving operation of the resort is second to none. Equipped with 2 dive boats and over 60 tanks, Divie Kadavu can dive you on some of the best divesites in the world. About forty exclusive divesites are all close to the resort, the closest is only 5 minutes.

Rooms/Suites

The rooms (Bures) are all over 400 sq feet in size, offering modern facities. We have to generate our own power but still have ceiling fans and bedside lights, running off battery banks, overnight. The natural sea breeze is also adequately useable, thanks to fly screens on windows on all four sides.The queensized beds and confortable lounge provide great relaxation and each Bure has its own private balcony, with lounge, deck chairs, the majority being beach front.

Amenities

There are two dining areas at the resort.The raised deck, outdoor dining area used during the day, and the indoor area, mainly used for the evening meal. The menu offers a mixture of traditional Fijian fare with a focus on fresh, local fish, and other international dishes and meats.There is a beachside bar area which is open in the afternoon.The raised outdoor dining area overlooks the resort, beach and out over the sea which is in front of the resort. The perfect place to watch the sunsets.For those that prefer, meals can be on the private balcony of your Bure.

Restrictions

Respect for the environment -flora, fauna and bio marine. (Kadavu has protected species on land and also unspoilt reefs.) Respect of the local protocols and traditions, particularly whilst being their guests.

Directions

Flights to Fiji arrive at either Nadi International airport or Suva International, depending on the point of your departure.Flights leave from Nadi and Suva to Kadavu daily. (45 minutes and 30 minutes respectively.)Once you arrive at Vunisea (on Kadavu) the resort staff will transport you and your baggage to the resort via a 10 minute boat ride.
