The Inn at Kulaniapia Falls

Surrounding Area

The Inn at Kulaniapia Falls is situated on 22 lush acres at a cool 850' above "Hilo Town". We are only 15 minutes from downtown Hilo, but we are definitely in the country. The entrance to our Inn will bring you through 2000 acres of Macadamia Nut Orchards where Hawaiian Hawk, Owls, phessant, and wild pig are often seen. Our Botanical Garden area features 3 more waterfall and a pavillion that cantelevers over the river from which you can see Kulaniapia Falls in the distance.

Within 30 minutes of the Inn you will find the Hawaii Botancal Gardens, Akaka Falls, Rainbow falls, Honolii surfing beach, Richardsons Beach Parks, and the Lyman and Tsunami Museums. Volcano Nat. Park is an easy 40 minute drive, and the visitors center at the 9000 ft. level of Mauna Kea is a one hour drive.

Accommodations

Kulaniapia was built specifically as an Inn, so designing spaces that were comfortable, private, and quiet was a main concern. Guests have there own exterior covered staircase that leads to an entrance foyer, with the four guest rooms beyond. You'll notice an oriental style to the archetecture with upturned roofing and shoji style doors in the ohana room. This is where you'll find the guest tv, stereo, and wet bar.

Rooms/Suites

Our four guest rooms are well appointed, with sitting areas, private bath entirely finish in Itallian Marble, and private balconies that overlook the waterfall, the ocean, and all of "Hilo Town".

Amenities

We have approximately 2 miles of walking trails that weave along the powerfull Waiau River. Swimming is allowed at the base of Kulaniapia Falls, weather permitting.
