USA Hostels- San Diego, is located right in the middle of the historic Gaslamp Quarter - the heart of the city. This is the area people come to for a night on the town - famous and stylish restuarants, clubs and venues abound. Limousines, open top convertible cars and horse drawn carriages pass right by the hostel door. Don't worry if you're on a budget, our staff will tell you about all the cheap places to eat, drink and be merry and provide you with discount coupons that are solely for our guests.
Most of the city's attractions are within walking distance, such as Sea Port Village, Embarcadero, Little Italy, the huge, beautiful Balboa Park and the world famous San Diego Zoo. Both the Greyhound and Train stations are also within walking distance as is the Trolley with access to more of the cities many attractions.

Accommodations

The hostel is housed in a beautiful historic Victorian building known as the Llewelyn building, and built in 1887. Your first view as you come in off the street is of the large double staircase that wraps itself majestically around the main reception area, crowned by a glass roof providing plenty of interior natural light. You'll be delighted with the decor and little touches that make this 'A home from home' and throughout the hostel you will be in awe of the fantastic art work.
A huge fully equipped kitchen is available for all our guests as is our beautiful, modern Cable TV room - all couches have been replaced with lots of big cushions to lounge on.
There is a small library and lots of common rooms for your enjoyment.
Alcohol is allowed in the hostel - we even provide you with an 'Alcohol Only' fridge in the main common room! and there and none of those ridiculous lock-outs, curfews or chores and - because of our policy, you will meet only international travelers here. We do not cater to people simply looking for a cheap bed. We're here for YOU, the backpacker.

Rooms/Suites

Spacious four and six bed dorms are available - we have couples dorms, female only / male only dormitories as well as twin and double private rooms. All the rooms are tastfully decorated and furnished with fans and comfortable beds and are serviced and cleaned every day.

Amenities

We provide a fast DSL Internet access terminal for your use and have well laid out notice boards displaying lots of travel related information.
There is a 24 hour Supermarket 2 blocks away. When you check in you will receive a discount card to ensure you get the cheapest price - just show it to the cashier.

Services Offered

Staff are chosen for their friendly personalities and can help you choose and reserve a place on one of the many backpacker tours. Both staff and management are international backpackers, and we will be happy to help you with any of your travel plans.

Grumpy, annoying types are requested to go elsewhere as we are all happy, easy going, fun people here :)

Dormitory beds cost $17- to $20- per night.
Twin or doubles cost $44- to $49- per night.
Weekly rates also available. No private bathrooms in rooms
Tax, linen, showers, breakfast, all day tea & coffee and much more are also included in the price. What a bargain!!
