Snorkel with the gentlest, most inquisitive marine mammals that you'll ever encounter! We leave from our docks every morning to take small groups of snorkelers out to play with manatees in world-famous Crystal River, Fl.

All levels of scuba diving instruction.

Typical Day

Tours meet at our shop at 6:15AM to gear up with mask, snorkel, fins, and wetsuit. Next, we show a short video on the do's and dont's of interacting with manatee, give an orientation with tips on how to have a great encounter, then walk out the door onto our boats. We head out to the springs, get into the water, and pet & play with these amazing creatures.While on board, we offer complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate, donuts, and juice drinks. Our Coast Guard inspected boats are fully enclosed in the winter for your comfort and have porta-potties and changing rooms. Our USCG licensed Captains get into the water with you each day to supervise, help out, and shoot a video of your encounter. Back at the shop after the 3-4 hour tour, we play the video so you can watch yourself and have a chance to get a copy.

Age range, type of group

These encounters are for any and all who aren't afraid of the water. Although we don't give snorkeling classes as part of the trip, we can offer assistance. Wetsuits make you "as bouyant as a cork", so weak swimmers and non-snorkelers really have nothing to worry about.Children must be accompanied by an adult. Age 6 is a good age to start, but hundreds of younger children have had great trips. Remember that the Captain will be in the water, so if any children want to return to the boat, an adult will need to go back, too. Many parents of younger children alternate this role.Our typical day sees mixed groups, couples, families, singles, and people of all ages.

Sleeping and meals

There are numerous hotels, motels, and campgrounds in the area. We recommend the Planatation Resort or Days Inn both with in about a mile of us and on the same side of the same road. Tell them you're going out with us for special rates!Crackers family restaraunt is 3 doors from ours and offers an excellent mix of seafood and family fare including the best burgers in town.

Restrictions

We place no restrictions on our passengers age or gender, but it is a boating and snorkeling trip, so you must be physically able to board. We do not allow smoking on board the boats. Pets are not allowed.

Rates

Our tours cost $35.00 per person. You need a mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuit. We can rent them ($8 for mask, snorkel, & fins; and $12 for a wetsuit.) DVD videos are available for $35
