Accommodations

Built in the 1860's, this home has a colorful history as a farmhouse, schoolhouse, and now as a guest house. Recent renovations have restored many charming features of the past as well as adding the comfortable amenities of today's lifestyle. Five guest rooms celebrate Mayland's rich shoreline features and the maritime industry that has responded to the alluring challenge of the Chesapeake Bay. These fresh air themes create a casual, relaxing environment for our guests to launch their recreational respites or to tackle their business endeavors.

Rooms/Suites

The house has central air conditioning and a fireplace in the guest parlor. Three guest rooms are located on the second floor; each has either a king or queen bed, and an en suite private bath. The other two guest rooms on the third floor have two full beds, and a full and single bed respectively. These two rooms share a bath. However, congestion is alleviated, as each room has a private sink and mirror, for shaving and freshening up, and never more than two occupants. These two rooms are ideal for family groups or friends traveling together.

All five rooms have cable television, alarm clocks, fans, and a private phone/data lines with answering machines. Business amenities include fax, copy, office supplies, and nearby overnight delivery drops as well as breakfast service as early as 6:30AM. A full breakfast is served daily in the dining room or seasonally on the porch. Fresh fruit and traditional favorites (i.e. waffles, pancakes, scrambled eggs, and French toast) grace the daily menu.

Amenities

Our location is on the quiet side of the Spa Creek drawbridge; where parking is plentiful, and unrestricted. It’s just minutes to sailing schools, yacht clubs, and the fine restaurants of “Restaurant Row”. The bustle of the historic district is just a 12 minute walk or a two minute water taxi ride. Bicycles are available for guest use.

Supervised children (over age 8) are welcome, pets are not.

Directions

From Baltimore: Take Rt.97 south. This will merge on to Rt. 50 east, then exit at Rowe Blvd.(Exit #24), follow Rowe Blvd. to end, turn right which will take you around Church Circle. Follow Church Circle around (about ¾ of the way around) and turn right on Duke of Gloucester Street. Take Duke of Gloucester to end, and turn right. Proceed over draw bridge to first stop light which is Severn Ave. Turn left on Severn Ave. and go 5 blocks. We are located on the SW corner of First Street and Severn Ave. The House address is 101 Severn Avenue, it is a light blue house with dark blue shutters and a red door.
