Our 73 cottage studios and suites are warm and inviting, with high beamed ceilings, wood-burning fireplaces, and handsomely appointed private baths. Decorated with touches of Spanish tile and fine Western art, each creates the ambiance of a cozy home - so much so, that some guests return to the same one each year. All cottages offer garden views, charming covered porches and a genuine sense of comfort. Suites with spacious sitting rooms are also available.

For those who want to get into the swing of things, two championship golf courses, provide impeccable-manicured fairways and greens that offer spectacular views of the Santa Ynez River and nearby Santa Ynez Mountians. A complete tennis center, with a well-equipped tennis shop, is situated on a scenic area of the ranch. Executives and families can enjoy team building at the state-of-the-art Challenge Ropes Course which was designed into the terrain flanking Alisal Creek near the historic Old Adobe Camp. After a lengthy day of horseback riding, the Alisal's outdoor heated swimming pool and adjacent eight-seat spa are the perfect way to unwind. The Alisal's talented Chef, Pascal Gode', assures guests a delectable dining experience for breakfast and dinner with frontier-size portions. With 6,000 sq. ft. of diverse meeting space, the Alisal is a relaxing and productive experience for group meetings and corporate retreats.

Other Information

During select times of the year, the Alisal offers a special Round-Up Vacation Package. For the regular price of a room, we include unlimited golf, horseback riding on our regularily-scheduled two hour rides, tennis and fishing. This package applies to only two people per room. The Round-Up package is offered on weekdays from September 6th through June 10th. It is also available on weekends from November through March. Holiday restrictions apply. For a two-night stay, arrival is required on Sunday or Wednesday nights. Golf carts and boats are not included. Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 1:00 p.m.

Nestled in the secluded Santa Ynez Valley, the Alisal lies 152 miles north of Los Angeles and 306 miles south of San Francisco. Visitors can arrive via scenic Highway 101, Santa Barbara Airport or Santa Ynez Airport by private aircraft. Transportation from Santa Barbara Airport can be arranged through the ranch.
