Surrounding Area

Plymouth is wonderful "Hub" for seeing all of Southeastern Massachusetts, as well all that Plymouth has to offer. Plimoth Plantation, Whale watching, historic houses, Pilgrim Museum, Wax Museum along with many
other interesting things to see and do make Plymouth a great place to start. Day trips are easy and all are
an hour or less drive. See Boston using Commutor Rail and the Beantown Trolley and avoid having to
drive in Boston. Get off the train and onto the Trolley which takes you around the "Freedom Trail" allowing
you to get off and on as often as you wish for one price. Newport is another great day trip. Home to the
Tennis Hall of Fame, many lovely Mansions, Turo Synagogue, and a great waterfront. Cape Cod is a short
15 minutes from Foxglove Cottage and is the jumping off point for Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Both
Islands are reasonable day trips and the ferry to Martha's Vineyard goes quite frequently, a 45 mniute trip.
Quaint Nantucket with its cobblestone streets is a fair ferry ride ( 2.25 hrs.) by regular ferry, a high speed ferry
will get you there in one hour. Another alternative is by air. Very frequent flights are 20 minutes in duration
and cost about $60.00 rountrip. Plymouth and its surrounding area offer ' The Best Vacation in History"

FROM LOGAN AIRPORT:

TAKE THE SUMNER TUNNEL INTO BOSTON. AS YOU COME OUT
OF THE TUNNEL ON THE BOSTON SIDE, BEAR TO THE RIGHT. GO
BETWEEN THE STORES AND THE ARTERY. AS YOU PASS THE
STORES, WHICH ARE ON YOUR RIGHT, YOU WANT TO THEN
BEAR TO YOUR LEFT SO YOU CAN GO UNDER THE ARTERY
AND GO UP THE RAMP ON THE OTHERSIDE. THIS WILL PUT
YOU SOUTHBOUND ON THE CENTRAL ARTERY. STAY ON THE
ARTERY, WHICH THEN BECOMES THE SOUTHEAST EXPESSWAY,
UNTIL YOU COME TO ROUTE #3 IN BRAINTREE. TAKE ROUTE#3
SOUTH TO PLYMOUTH ( SIGNS WILL SAY "CAPE COD" ). WHEN
YOU GET TO PLYMOUTH, LEAVE ROUTE #3 AT EXIT #4. THIS
EXIT IS PLANTATION HIGHWAY AND EXITS TO YOUR LEFT OUT
OF THE HIGH SPEED LANE. FOLLOW PLANATION HIGHWAY FOR
ABOUT ONE MILE TO THE FIRST EXIT YOU COME TO. IT WILL
SAY CHILTONVILLE/ SANDWICH ROAD. TAKE THIS EXIT AND
AT THE TOP OF THE RAMP TURN LEFT. GO ONE/HALF MILE
TO FOXGOLOVE COTTAGE, ON YOUR RIGHT. IF YOU NEED
