Hale Ho'onanea - The hospitality of a B&B with the privacy of a vacation rental, in Kohala Estates on the beautiful Gold Coast of West Hawaii. The Hawaiian translation of Ho'onanea means to pass the time in peace, ease and pleasure, to relax. Sojourn to the tranquility of our rural three acres. Enjoy serene sunrises over majestic Mauna Kea and breathtaking sunsets upon a panoramic ocean view. Prime viewing season for humpback whale watching is December through March. The night sky hosts a multitude of stars and the moonlight on the ocean is most romantic. Many world-class hotels, beaches, restaurants and shops are just minutes away. Short drives will take you to many of our natural and historical treasures. We would be most happy to share our local knowledge with you. Iku ka makemake e hele mai, hele no ma ka malo'-elo'-e! Rooms/Suites

All suites - Enjoy breakfast at your leisure with homemade breads, tropical fruits, nuts & 100% Kona coffee, served to your suite daily. Hale suite: king bed, queen sofa sleeper, private bath, kitchenette, your own lanai with sweeping ocean view. Tranquility suite: king bed, daybed with trundle [two single beds - converts to queen], private bath, kitchenette, your own lanai with sweeping ocean view. Garden suite: queen bed, queen futon, private bath, kitchenette, ocean view lanai shared with hosts. All suites are detached with separate entrances and include: TV,VCR, book library, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, refrigerator, barbecue grill (outside).

No restrictions. Smoking allowed on the lanai.

Rates & Availability

Reservations are required. Rates from $100 are based on double occupancy; requisite state taxes are additional. A 50%deposit is required to guarantee the reservation. Balance is due upon arrival. We will happily refund your deposit, less a $25 booking fee, for cancellations made at least 30 days prior to arrival date. Early check-out is considered a cancellation. Check-in time is between 2-4pm. We can accommodate a later check-in if you let us know in advance. Check-out is 11am.

Directions

From Kona Airport, turn left onto Queen Kaahumanu Hwy (19) heading north. Go approximately 30 miles to stop sign, the intersection of 19 and 270. Turn left at stop sign onto 270 and head toward Kawaihae. Veer right at the real estate sales office following the signs to Mahukona and Hawi (route 270). Another 2 miles north at mile marker #6 turn right onto Ala Kahua Drive and proceed uphill . Our blue houses with brown trim are approximately 1.6 miles up the hill on the left side, look for the 2 white marble pillars and Hale Ho'onanea sign at our driveway entrance. We are the 3rd house from the top of the hill.
