The toughtest race of the year 2000: biking, swimming, abseiling, climbing, orienteering- five days and nights a trip through hell !

It was the idea of the X-trem Biker Philip Steidl 3 years ago, to create this outstanding raid through the very heart of his beloved Andalucia. This year the trails of the Andalucia eXtrem 2000 will lead through the rugged mountains of the Sierra Nevada and along the coast of Andalucia.
In teams of two the adventurers will have to walk on ice and snow on their snowshoes, always carrying their bikes, they will have to cross hanging bridges, abseil themselves along waterfalls and pass more than 400 kilometers in distance and 15.000 meters in altitude within five days and nights. They have to completely rely on their own. Whoever is not perfect in orienteering or cannor read maps will lose hours or even days in this competition out in the Spanish wildernesss and in the rough canyons on the historic trails of ancient Arab soldiers.
Even a top trained competitor cannot catch up with this amount of time lost. Whoever has a feeling for nature, is excellent in tactics and knows how to handle his physical strenght over a long period of time may reach his goal after almost a week. However, the chances to arrive will be less than 50 %.

International Participants: Raiders, experienced mountainbikers and specialists in orienteering, mountaineers, but all of them adventurers. For the first time this year "mixed"- teams have applied.

Participants: they have to be at least 18 years of age and should be in perfect physical and mental condition. They should have some knowledge of orienteering as well as a good feeling for nature and should be able to think stratetically.

Fees: Application fee per team ATS 10.000.-- / EURO 727.—
Included: meals, insurance, additional material for raid, lodge, medical assistance, camp fees, fees for natural parks, maps, transport, kick off dinner and fiesta final.

Price money:ATS 60.000,-- (EURO 4.360,--)
