The Great House Hotel is situated on the Market Place of medieval village of Lavenham. Overlooking the Market Cross, the National Trust Guildhall Museum and next door to the Little Hall Museum, most of the bedrooms have a beautiful view over the village. Lavenham is a delight to walk around. Visit the magnificent 'Wool Church', wander around the little streets with their shops, crooked houses, antiques, art galleries ...Right in the middle of East Anglia, this is the ideal location.

Accommodations

Built in the 14th and 15th centuries by the Caustons family, The Great House had its imposing Georgian facade added in the 18th century to keep up with the times.Converted into a restaurant by the present owners in 1985, the bedrooms were opened in 1986. On the ground floor, the Bar/Lounge welcome you with a restaurant and a patio in the courtyard. The bedrooms are on the first floor and second floor.

Amenities

The Bar/lounge is the perfect place for a drink or coffee. The restaurant offers a light lunch menu and daily changing dinner menu as well as the A La Carte. The cuisine is Country-French as the owners are French. It is always recommended to reserve your table as the restaurant can be busy at times.The patio is a delight - weather permiting. Lunches and Dinners are served out all Summer.

When driving in the High Street, turn left (coming from North -Bury St Edmunds) or right (coming from South-East) into Market Lane at the corner of Newsagent shop. We are on the Market Place, just behind the Cross.
