On the edge of the ancient Charnwood Forest, now forming part of the new National Forest the area has much to offer the mobile tourist. The nearby M42 offers swift travel to the National Exhibition Centre, with the Nottingham East Midlands Airport and Castle Donnington with 15 minutes drive. The Mallory Park racing cicuit is again 15 minutes drive to the south. The theme parks at Alton Towers and Drayton Manor are easily accessible. Other local attractions include Snibston museum housing everything from mining artifacts to modern day and historical fashions. The Conkers park is within the National Forest and provides a good family day out.
