Hostel Ruthensteiner is the perfect place from which to discover Vienna, the city of music, fascinating history, superb museums, great coffee houses, stunning architecture and exciting nightlife. We are located equidistant between the City Center and Palace Schoenbruenn and within easy walking distance of both.

Accommodations

We have all different types of beds and rooms, depending on your preference, ranging from beds in a dorm (using your own sheets or sleeping bag or rent sheets from us) to beds in 2, 3, 4, or 5-bedded rooms, and a couple of single rooms.

Rooms/Suites

All rooms are complete with sinks (hot and cold water). Showers and bathrooms are just down the hall.
All beds in single, twin, 3-, 4- and 5-Bed Rooms come complete with bed linens. In the dorm, you can either use your own sheets or sleeping bag or rent linens from us. Most rooms now have brand new hardwood floors as well!

Amenities

All prices include use of the facilities: free use of the kitchen and barbeque, lockers, unlimited hot showers and use of musical instruments. We have a lovely garden with handmade furniture and an oversized chess set for relaxing and taking some time off from sight-seeing. In addition, we have Internet and Email kiosks for connecting with family and friends and for travel planning. There is a self-service laundromat in the hostel. Bicycle rental is nearby.

Services Offered

City maps, Opera- Theaterprograms, Vienna Sightseeing and other travel-related information are displayed in the reception. Additional free City maps, museum guides and other information are available from the friendly staff at the front desk.

Restrictions

We welcome people of all nationalities, ages and genders! We do, however, have a smoke-free environment (except in the garden!) and a no-pet policy.

We happily accommodate individual travelers and families but no tour groups, please!

3-5 Bed Room: 13- 14 Euros per bed
Two Bed Room: 19-21 Euros per bed
Single 24 Euros per bed

Open all year! No lock out or curfew.

Vienna is fun to visit any time of year! No matter what you may be interested in, there is definitely something for everyone in our lovely city! Concerts, the world famous Vienna opera, the Vienna woods, Heurigen (wine gardens), fabulous museums and palaces with beautiful gardens. And of course the night life as well! Our great staff will try to help you find just the right thing!

Directions

From the Westbahnhof train station, leave from the main entrance, turn right and walk down to the main street-the Mariahilferstrasse. Turn right. Walk 2 blocks and turn left onto Haidmannsgasse. Walk down one street and turn right onto Robert Hamerlinggasse. We are the third house down on the right at house number 24. Welcome!

Hostels of Europe cards and VIP Backpacker cards accepted with a 5% discount on your accomodation.

We also have great "Winter Specials" between November 3 and December 20th and then again between January 6th and February 20th! And besides, our prices are the best in Vienna, anyway!
