Surrounding Area

Inverness, capital of the Highlands of Scotland, is within easy reach of spectacular scenery of mountains and moorlands, lochs and glens. Castles such as Cawdor, Urquhart and Brodie are within a short drive, as is Culloden Battlefield, prehistoric Clava Cairns or the Black Isle. There is a wealth of wildlife - deer, eagles, red kites, dolphins waiting to be spotted by the keen eyed. Famous Loch Ness and its infamous monster inhabitant, Nessie, are a few miles away. Easy to get to but difficult to leave behind, Inverness and its surroundings will tempt you back again.

Accommodations

Clach Mhuilinn is a large, detached house with a lovely garden in a quiet residential part of Inverness, just a mile from the centre. Inside the house is light and airy, with modern furniture, some beautiful antiques like the 200 year-old grandfather clock and lots of original paintings. The garden is not large but is well planted and very colourful, providing a habitat for many different species of birds.

Rooms/Suites

There are just two guest rooms: one double room with 5 foot bed and en suite shower-room and one twin or king bedded suite with en suite shower-room and private sitting room. All rooms have TV and the bedrooms have electric blankets, hairdryers, tea/coffee making facilities, fresh flowers and books and magazines. The beds are all new and very comfortable and the shower-rooms newly done and ultra clean.

Amenities

There is a downstairs lounge with TV, lots of books and a calm and peaceful atmosphere for relaxation.

Services Offered

A welcoming tray of tea/coffee and biscuits will be available when you arrive or in the evening in the lounge if requested. Breakfast is a rather delicious affair, served between 8.15am and 9.15am but a breakfast tray in your room or a breakfast picnic box can be provided for early departures.

Restrictions

We cannot accept pets and do not have any of our own because of allergies. As we do not have family rooms and there are many breakable objects around we are unable to accommodate children under sixteen. Clach Mhuilinn is no smoking throughout.
