Active Adventure

Since 1900, the Lozier family has hosted cowboy/cowgirls, horse enthusiats and folks who wish to experience an authentic, western cowboy way of life. We are a western working guest ranch, not a resort. An interest in horses, ranching, cattle work and riding horses in beautiful country is paramount to obtaining the utmost enjoyment during your vacation. The Box "R" is located at the base of the Wind River Mountain Range in Western Wyoming. NOSE-TO-TAIL riding strongly discouraged. Experience riding liberties and freedoms not found at other ranches.

Typical Day

Rise with the howl of the Coyotes and watch the sunrise rise over the Wind River Mtns., eat a hearty homecooked breakfast, head down to the barn, brush down and saddle up your hoss. Then hit the trail moving cattle, or head into the back country wilderness to view Wyoming's magnificent wildlife, including bald eagles, hawks, moose, deer, antelope, or elk. Enjoy a sunrise breakfast on the trail, a beach cook-out and let the stars and moonlight guide you home. You'll return to your home exhilirated by this ranch vacation.

Age range, type of group

Adult Only weeks (16+ yrs of age with parent, or 19 without) and Specials for Ladies make up much of our season. Several specially planned Family vacation weeks are available with children 8 yrs.+ . All levels of riding experience welcome. Check our website for SPECIALS and FAMILY rates.

Sleeping and meals

12 Single, Double or Triple rooms all have private bathrooms, porches, shared recreation rooms, refrigerators, pool tale and views of wildlife and livestock right out your window. Hearty and Light meals are all family or buffet style, with fresh breads, 20 item salad bar, homemade soups, prime rib, steaks and desserts. We pride ourselves in a delightful blend of CULLINARY ARTS and wholesome western food flair.

Restrictions

Smoking restricted to outdoor areas only. All intineraries are "tentative" guests need to bear in mind that the ranches activities are not an improvisation and are governed by the numerous factors involving the cattle's essential needs, trailing distances, weather, federal agencies, and working with the continuity of up to 25 neighboring ranches.

Rates

All inclusive weekly Vacation Packages from Sunday to Sunday. Rates range from $1,295 per person double occupancy. Optional Basic Horsemanship Clinics and spectacular 11,000 ft. ride to White Rock Mtn., above the infamous Green River Lakes, also offered at additional cost. Added to cost is 10% gratuity and 3% U.S. Forest Fee

Other Information

Free Shuttle (group) pick-up and drop-off to/from Jackson Hole Airport/local motel on Sundays between hours of 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
