Description of Active Adventure

Ocean River offers guided and unguided sea kayak tours in the Abel Tasman National Park, Nelson, New Zealand. Ocean River is one of the largest sea kayak outfitteres in NZ/Australia, and has an excellent reputation for safety, quality, modern equipment, great guides and excellent camp cuisine. NZ Tourism Awards Finalist.

Most of Ocean River's trips commence at 8:30am. Daily departures from our Marahau base (Marahau is the southern gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park).

Age range, type of group

Couples, singles and groups of friends are our typical clients. Age range is 18 to 60. Please advise us if you are in the 60+ age range, and we can then advise on the suitability of your preferred departure.

Sleeping and meals

This depends on the tour selected. Some overnight and dine in lodges, whilst others are beach campsites. Ocean River caters most of the trips, but you can also self-cater.

Restrictions

No restrictions with the exception that clients should be over 18 years of age. If younger, please check with our booking staff prior to booking.

Rates & Availability

Kayak hire from $35 per day. Guided trips: 1 day trips from $92 per person (includes BBQ Gourmet lunch); 2 day guided sea kayak trips from $225 per person (uncatered) and catered 3 day Enchanted Coast tour from $475 per person.
