The Tashmoo Cove development is located in the prestigious West Chop neighborhood of Vineyard Haven (also known as Tisbury). For those unfamiliar with the island, Martha's Vineyard is shaped like a triangle, 20 miles at the base and 10 miles tall; West Chop is at the tip of the triangle. West Chop is approx. 1 mile north of downtown Vineyard Haven, which is 3.5 miles from Oak Bluffs and 7 miles from Edgartown. Tashmoo Cove is an exclusive development of 20 triplexes (60 luxury homes) and extensive recreational facilities spread out on 107 acres. The land is bordered by the West Chop Woods (conservation land), the Mink Meadows Golf Course, Lake Tashmoo (really a Cove but called a lake), and the Vineyard Sound. Facilities include 6 tennis courts, a heated junior olympic swimming pool, a duck pond, a volleyball court, a private beach and dock on Lake Tashmoo (great for watching sunsets over the lake and ocean beyond...), and a private ocean beach on the Vineyard Sound. Unlike many homes which advertise private beach; referring to a town beach for residents only, these facilities are owned by the association and are only shared by the homes in the development.

First floor of this luxurious home includes a living room with soaring 20 foot ceilings, a flamed granite fireplace,and bleached oak hardwood floors; an armoire hides the TV (cable), VCR, and stereo (am/fm, cassette, CD) as well as an ample supply of child and adult games (for rainy days or evenings by the fire). A formal dining room with huge spanish colonial table and french doors leads to the private deck with teak furniture, market umbrellas, adirondack chairs, and gas grill. A Gourmet cooks kitchen is fully equipped with top-of-the line appliances including instant-hot water, icemaker, bread machine, several lobster pots, extensive cookware, flatware and glassware, microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker, blender, toaster, a stocked spice rack, etc., and a nook table seating six. A laundry closet houses a washer & dryer, and a third bedroom/den has a queen futon bed, desk with fax machine, etc. A bath with shower is downstairs (there is also an enclosed outdoor hot water shower). A staircase leads to a catwalk overlooking the living room and separates the two upstairs bedrooms. A charming kids room has two twin beds, dual closets, and an en-suite bathroom with tub, shower, travertine marble vanity, etc. The large master suite has a king bed, walk-in closet, and master bath with dual travertine vanities, two-person jacuzzi tub with window overlooking the woods, and a separate shower. Zoned heating and air conditioning provide year-round comfort (A/C is rare on the Vineyard). The phone number is 508-696-6175, and there is an answering machine. Local calls are free, long-distance must be charged to a home number or calling card. A crib, baby monitor, bedrail, high-chair/booster seat, changing table and stairway gate are available on request. The home was built in 1990 and is lead-free. It is 1850 sq. ft. plus deck, garage, and storage. Coolers and six beach chairs (plus 2 kids beach chairs) are provided.
