Accommodations

The Blue Belle Inn is a distinctively decorated, Queen Anne Victorian with a wrap around front porch, stained glass windows, maple pocket doors, lofty tin ceilings, and fireplaces. Sprawling sugar maples turn brilliant red and orange in the fall. Waterlilies and gold fish, windowboxes, flower and herb gardens adorn the yard.

Guests love our storybook themed rooms, "Sleeping Beauty", "NeverNeverland", "Sherwood Forest", "The Secret Garden", "On the Banks of Plum Creek" and "Heaven to Betsy" with its handmade quilt, cherubic decor and artwork galore. All rooms have private baths, 2 suites have fireplaces and private jacuzzis for two. All rooms provide a restful respite from the world in a relaxed, yet unique setting. We’ve added a new house to our repertoire of rooms. In keeping with our storybook theme, “Anne’s House of Dreams” made its grand debut in 2006. The house has three bedrooms, a whirlpool for two, a double shower, its own kitchen, sleeping for 6-8 people, and is handicap accessible. With discounts for extended stays, Anne’s House of Dreams will be the perfect spot for a private retreat or a "Kindred Spirit" get-together. Please call for pricing.

Amenities

The Blue Belle Inn offers conference facilities, gourmet dining by candlelight for groups of up to 80. We have murder mysteries, cooking seminars, scrapbooking & quilting retreats, horse-drawn sleigh and surrey rides, and live concerts and musical entertainment. We have wireless internet access, and, as of June 2006, a handicap accessible unit with a roll-in shower.

Rooms range from $70.00 to $375.00 per night, and extra cots or beds are priced from $10.00 to $40.00. We are open year round. We offer Monday - Thursday night and extended stay discounts.

We are 20 miles south of Austin, Minnesota and only 1 hour from Rochester, Minnesota.

Directions

Take I-35 south from Minneapolis to I-90. Go east on I-90 to Austin and then take the Highway 218 South exit and follow the signs to Lyle, MN. Keep going south on Hwy 218 until you reach St. Ansgar. When you come to the first stop sign, turn right and head west. You will be on 4th Street, and the Inn is at at 513 W. 4th Street, on the right side of the road.Alternate route... you can stay on I-35 heading south until you are just south of Albert Lea, MN. Take the Hwy 65 south exit and go south to Northwood, IA. In Northwood, take a left on County Road 105 and head east through Carpenter and into St. Ansgar. I will be on your left when you come to the first stop sign.From the south, take I-35 to Hwy 9 and go east through Manly until you reach County Road T-26. Turn left and go north about 7 miles until you reach the first stop sign. The Blue Belle Inn will be right in front of you.
