Accommodations

Nutmeg Grove B&B is nestled on a 3 acre rainforest property. This is totally surrounded by forested Mountain Ranges.
Enjoy the tropical evening sounds of frogs, fruitbats & nightlife - then awaken to an array of birdsong surrounding your private guest wing.
We offer a gorgeous King Bedroom suite and a Queen Bedroom. These are individually airconditioned if you choose. Naturally both have private bathrooms.
This elegant very large spacious Queenslander/Federation/Colonial home will delight you. All rooms open through double french doors onto surrounding covered verandahs.

The front octagon at Nutmeg Grove is affectionately known as the morning room or library. This offers splendid views of the mountains and tropical gardens with palm fringed driveway.
The rear octagon is the TV/evening area - this oversees the pool area and rainforest with lush tropical gardens.

Rooms/Suites

THE KING SUITE has larger than king sized bed (or 2 king singles).
This is a beautifully appointed room and is basically self contained. Enjoy the luxury private spa bathroom. This suite has French Doors opening on both sides of the cool under cover verandahs with many nooks to sit and relax.
THE QUEEN ROOM has a beautiful rainforest bathroom. Opens onto one side of the verandahs overlooking the forest with private outdoor table and chairs.
Cooling fans are in all rooms of the homestead and all bedrooms offer individual airconditioning if so desired.

Your Great Barrier Reef outings depart from Cairns,Trinity Inlet (15 minutes) or an easy drive to Port Douglas (45 minutes).
Kuranda Trainride is just up the road, as well as the SkyRail & The Aboriginal Cultural Centre, Tjapukai (10 minutes)
Beaches are in easy driving distance from Nutmeg Grove - 10-15 minutes.
Excellent wide selection of world class dining in Cairns, Reef Casino as well as many local suburban restaurants.

Behind our home and swimming pool area you can enjoy 2 acres of rainforest with small walking tracks. Here you will find many hideaways to enjoy. This is where you listen to mother nature at its best. Abundant birdlife and butterflies in the tropical gardens. Palm nursery and lime orchard with tropical fruit trees.
A short walk from here you discover Crystal Cascades. This offers the coolest swimming in natural surrounds. Fauna & flora abounds in this World Heritage Listed Area.

Our home does not cater for small children.

Directions

From airport:
Turn right at first traffic light - this is the highway.
Then turn left at the following traffic light - Aeroglen Road and becomes Kamerunga Road.
Drive approx 7.5 kms along this road until you come to a T-intersection at Redlynch. Turn left here at the Red Beret Hotel - Intake Road - Goes to Crystal Cascades.
