You are just steps from one of the best Cape Cod bay beaches. The water in the bay is warmer and more pleasant than the oceanside and there is no rough surf as there can be at the oceanside beaches. You can walk to a private association beach, public bay beaches, or fresh water ponds. The ocean beaches of Coastguard and Nauset are a short drive away.

Eastham is between Orleans and Wellfleet on Cape Cod, Massachussetts. Eastham is described in the Original Cape Cod Guide® as, "Eastham is the home of the Visitor's Center at the National Seashore. Miles of sandy beaches, mysterious marshes and hundred year old sea captain homes preserve Eastham's presence as a quiet, less crowded place to experience old Cape Cod. The air is different with a whiff of the isolation that used to be. The first thing to catch your eye is the Eastham Windmill, oldest on Cape Cod, set in a park in the town center. Samoset Road will take you to one of the best Bayside sunset-watching spots at First Encounter Beach. Make a stop at the Penniman House for a delightful look at how the upper class lived 100 years ago. And check out the view over Fort Hill. You can almost feel the presence of the Native Americans who inhabited the Cape before the Pilgrims arrived, not only because of the names all around you - Nauset, Samoset, Massassoit - but also because of the reverence of the land that is here. Spend some time at Coast Guard Beach and look out over Nauset Marsh, where Henry Thoreau wrote his book "Cape Cod." Stroll by the magnetic sight of Nauset Light, blinking red and white, and feel the chill when you see how close it is to the ever eroding coastline."

Vacation Rental Property

The house is new, 2,000 square feet, and accommodates eight people with two queen beds, two twin beds, and a pull out sleeper sofa. There are hardwood floors throughout; the floor plan is bright and open; there are lots of windows; ceiling fans in every room; all new appliances, furniture and decor; screened in porch and deck, and a large private yard.

Sleeps & # of Bedrooms

The new house sleeps eight. There is an upstairs bedroom with a queen bed, an upstairs bedroom with two twin beds, and there is a sleeper sofa in the upstairs loft. There are two full baths with bathtubs and showers.

Amenities

All kitchen utensils provided, TV, VCR, Stereo, Cable TV, two phone lines (one can be used for fax / modem). Just need to bring table linens, towels, beach items, and bed linens. There are large grocery stores in Orleans and a convenience store at the corner of Samoset and Route 6 in Eastham.

Restrictions

No pets, no smoking.

Rates & Availability

Contact owner for rates and availability. Taking reservations for 2000 season.

2000 Season:
Until June 24, 2000 $1,600 per week.
June 24 - September 2, 2000: $2,500 per week.
After September 2, 2000: $1,600 per week.

1999 Season:
Weeks from June 12 - September 18, 1999 are booked.
Weeks beginning September 18, 1999 are $1500 per week.

If you are interested in the house, I can fax or mail you a rental agreement, which you need to send back with your deposit of 50% of the rate by personal check or money order (balance due 30 days prior to arrival.)
