Description of Surrounding Area

Staniel Cay is a small island in the middle of the Exuma chain of islands, located 80 miles southeast of Nassau. There are 365 islands in 100 miles...one for each day of the year! Serenity overlooks Thunderball Grotto where the movies "Thunderball", "Never Say Never" and "Splash" were filmed. Only 100 people, including children, live on this idyllic island. There is a village, church, restaurants, some stores...and plenty of serenity! The view is incredible and the snorkeling and fishing are outstanding! Many people come just to bonefish or to snorkel "Thunderball Grotto", a hollowed out island that is like a giant protected fish bowl. Swim in at low tide and be amazed at the variety of fish and coral.

Serenity was built in 2005. The cottage has a huge wrap-around deck with hammock overlooking the dock and gin-clear water. The kitchen has all conveniences, and guests have use of sat tv and wireless internet. Beach towels and snorkeling gear provided. Guests have option of a Boston Whaler and golf cart, a "car" on the small island. Retreat, the owner's home, is available separately or in combination with the cottage...only one rental party is booked at a time on the property for privacy.

Serenity has two bedrooms and a bath and can accommodate up to 2 couples or a family up to 5: one queen bed in master, one double lower bunk with a single on top in second bedroom. Retreat has a full three bedrooms and three baths as well as laundry.

Amenities

Cottage has satellite TV,wireless internet VCR, CD player, tape deck, VHF radio, telephone, full kitchen, all utensils, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee grinder, full fridge and gas range/oven. Retreat also has a dishwasher and laundry in addition to all other amenities.

NO SMOKING inside cottage/house.

Rates & Availability

$2200 per week for 1-2 guests (cottage)
$3000 per week for 1-2 guests (cottage) includes 13' boat, golf cart
$150 per week each additional adult
$100 per week each additional child under 12
