Surrounding Area

St.Lucia is a lush tropical island with mountains to climb, rain forests and plantations to explore, open markets for shopping, reefs to snorkel, secluded beaches for swimming. The capital of Castries is a short twenty minute ride by car or bus. There you will find a number of shops, both local and duty free. Tour the local fruit and vegetable market, open daily except Sunday. Or if you wish a more energetic vacation, climb the world famous Pitons or explore the rain forest. If touring is your thing, you will want to go to the rum factory (a short 10 minute drive from the house) or take a tour of the west coast of the island and its spectacular scenery. There is a dive and watersports shop within walking distance of the house; you can go out on one of the daily dives or rent a sailboat and view the island from the sea. Or if your idea of a vacation is a good book and some sunshine, this is your spot. Relax on the sun porch at the house or at the pool or beach a two minute walk from the house. Lots to do; nothing you have to do.

Vacation Rental Property

The house is a ranch style West Indian house with an open floor plan. Very private. Panoramic views. The front of the house is a big open room with living and dining areas; kitchen with stove and refrigerator. The two bedrooms are in the rear of the house each with a private bath. The rooms are large and airy. There is a ceiling fan over both beds and two others in the living area. No air conditioning. The house is equipped with all necessary linens, china, cutlery, pans. And lots of extras. No TV but a radio/tape player for music and news. Outside are flowering shrubs, fruit trees and flower gardens.

Sleeps & # of Bedrooms

Two bedrooms, each with a private bath. Best with two couples or family with same sex children. Recommend no more than four.

Amenities

Radio and tape player. Telephone. Games for big and little kids. Kitchen with gas range and refrigerator (both new). Baths have tile showers. Internet connection for extra charge. Rates include transportation to/from airport; also maid service.

Restrictions

Prefer no smoking. No small children as sun porch has low railing.

Other Information

You really do not need a car to enjoy your vacation at Poinsettia House. We are near a resort that offers restaurants, bars, shops, grocery store. You can walk to all these within minutes. The beach and two swimming pools are minutes from the house.
