Description of Surrounding Area

This unique home is located "Up-Island" which is the hilly country on the western half of Martha's Vineyard Island. Indian Summer (which is Sept. and into Oct.) offers fine fishing and peaceful days at the beach. One of Chilmark's
Town Beaches is a nude beach. Your surrounding options include a choice of extremely "Fine" dinning, nature trails, horseback riding, shops, golf course, world class sport fishing and the potential for deep relaxation in a sort of "time warp", seven miles off of the coast of what we call America. The island is fondly called "the Rock" by many of the locals. The quaint fishing village of Menemsha is only 5-10 minutes away. This is a great year round get away spot. All seasons hold a special attraction. The "off season" allows you to immerse yourself into the island in a way that could not be approached "in-season".

This hilltop waterview retreat offers privacy, and peace amidst pines which frame a view of Vineyard sound. At night you can see the lights of the mainland sparkle on the distant horizon from this unique lofty retreat, or sit in the redwood hot tub (holds 8) and watch the moon rise over the ocean. Wildlife abounds.(Deer, Rabbits, Wild Turkeys, Raptors,etc.) Glass walls create a wonderful natural feel.

Sleeps & # of Bedrooms

The house sleeps 6+. The Master Bedroom has a king bed, fireplace, dressing room w/vanity, pvt.bathroom and sliders to a screened porch and stone terrace with the hot tub. The guest room has a king bed, and an adjacent bath, a slider to a porch. The 3rd bedroom has a queen sized bed, pvt. bath and a cot which can be set up. This room also has a door which adjoins the same porch as the guest room. (great for sunsets). There is a pull out couch on the lower level in the same room which has a laundry facillity and a pool table. This accomadation is good for a temporary stay but not as a permanant room although, there is a separate bath adjacent.

Amenities

The kitchen is completely equiped. All linens are included. The Great Room has a dinning area with a large table and a grouping of taupe leather furnishings cozy around the stone fireplace. The television is via Satellite, with a system of surround sound, plus VCR, CD, and cassett. There is an indoor garden space. A stone terrace runs the length of the house and where there is an umbrella table, chairs, chaise lounges, an outdoor fireplace grill and a hot tub w/ outdoor shower.

Restrictions

Pets are considered. There is also a screened porch area. There is an additional security dep. if animals are permitted.

Check for odd dates or weeks - Sometimes we have them if someone books 3 weeks during July/August. Also owner uses sporatically. These odd dates often offered at reduced rate.
